Equality Objectives
William Stockton Primary School is situated in Ellesmere Port. A higher than average proportion of pupils are in receipt of pupil premium (children eligible for free school meals within the last 6 years) within our school. At William Stockton, we recognise the need to celebrate and value the diversity of society as we prepare our children to contribute to life now and in the future.
Equality of opportunity for all our children and the staff, who work within our school community, is an essential principle. Every person matters at William Stockton and will be given every opportunity to succeed and reach their full potential.
We seek to ensure that our school respects the individuality of all pupils, employees, governors and visitors irrespective of ethnicity, religion, attainment, age, disability, gender, sexual orientation or background, thus upholding our commitment to provide a service which ensures equality of opportunity and freedom from discrimination for all.
In order to further support pupils, raise standards and ensure inclusive teaching, we have set the following objectives (these objectives will be reviewed every 3 years):-
Objective 1: To monitor and analyse pupil achievement by gender, SEN, pupil premium and children with EAL, acting on any trends or patterns in the data that require additional support for pupils.
Objective 2: To raise levels of attainment in core subjects for vulnerable learners.
Objective 3: To review levels of parental and pupil engagement in learning and school life, across all activities to ensure equity and fairness in access and engagement.
Objective 4: Monitor changes to the curriculum to ensure they result in good outcomes for pupils in all vulnerable groups.
Objective 5: To embed the British value of tolerance (Mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs and for those without faith)
