EYFS

  Reception Autumn Term Learning

We read the story 'Goliclocks and the Three Bears'. We looked at the different characters in the story and even made some porridge.

We read the story 'Handas Surprise'. We looked at all the different fruits that Handa collected to take to Akeyo. We had the opportunity to try lots of different fruits and we talked about which fruit was our favourite. In our busy learning time we sketched pictures of different fruits and went on a Journey with Handa.

We joined in with Remembrance Day activities. We looked at videos to help us understand why we have Remembrance Day and we made our own Poppies to wear.

We have been doing lots of number work this half term. We have been working on recognising numerals 1-10 and 1-20. We have been ordering numerals and have even been doing some simple addition and subtraction.

We LOVE learning in the outdoors. We have had lots of opportunity to busy learn outoors this half term. We have been transfering our learning by working on numbers and building lots of different creations.

We perfromed 'Our First Nativity' for our parents. We had so much fun dressing up in Christmas costumes. We learnt all about the 'Christmas Story' and showed lots of expression through singing and dance.

We went on our first school trip to 'Imagine That'. We travelled on a bus to Liverpool. There were so many activities for us to take part in. We built in the construction area, painted a real car and even met Santa and received a gift. We can't wait to go on our next school trip.

Nursery Autumn Term Learning

As we settled into nursery we made lots of new friends, enjoying our learning both indoors and outdoors.

We learnt all about Autumn by exploring our school grounds and finding as many Autumn objects as we could!

We learnt lots of new skills at snack time, such as spreading, peeling and chopping.

When it was Halloween we carved a pumpkin before exploring all of its insides.....it was very messy!

Soon it was Christmas and we posted our letters to Santa.

We performed our Nursery Christmas songs on stage before hosting a Christmas Craft morning for our parents and carers. We made lots of amazing things.

We can't wait to learn more!
